4.3 billion euros in funding are to be made available for the digitalization of the hospital landscape in Germany. The expansion of digital infrastructure and the strengthening of IT security are the key focus areas. ## Key Points - **Funding rate:** 70% from the federal government and 30% from the state or hospital operator - **Start:** Since September 2, 2020, projects can be implemented and funding needs can be registered with federal states - **Application deadline:** December 31, 2021 - **Eligible projects:** - At least 15% should be used for measures to improve information systems - Regulated in Section 19 Paragraph 1 Sentence 1 of the Hospital Structure Fund Ordinance (KHSFV) - **Application recipient:** The state ministry responsible for hospitals - **Funding availability:** From January 1, 2021 - **Measurement:** In June 2021 and June 2023, the "digital maturity level" of the hospital will be assessed - **Risk:** Discount of up to 2% of the invoice amount (for full and partial inpatient cases) if eligible digital projects were not realized (from January 1, 2025) We are happy to assist with the application process and the realization of digital projects. The submission and coordination is handled by the state ministry responsible for hospitals in your federal state. For this reason, state ministries will set deadlines for needs registration well before the end of the year. It is therefore advisable to define digital projects promptly. Do you have additional needs or ideas? Let us work together to develop solutions. For the needs registration with the state, it is worthwhile to bundle different solutions. For this purpose, we have established a consortium with other providers.
