One or another road user has already been taught by it - the speed smiley. If a car drives too fast, the smiley is angry or sad. If the speed is within the appropriate range, it's satisfied. This principle can be applied to motivating hospital staff for hand disinfection. This is supported by the study by Gaube et al. titled: [How a smiley protects health: A pilot intervention to improve hand hygiene in hospitals by activating injunctive norms through emoticons](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29782516/) A display is mounted above the disinfectant dispenser. It communicates wirelessly with the dispenser. The person in front of the dispenser literally has it in their hands whether the smiley is happy or sad. The motto is **"Press me until I smile"**. This product development is being carried out together with the University of Regensburg. ![NosoEx Smiley Feedback](/blog/migrated/smiley-feedback-display.png)
