Optimizing Processes and Resources in Hospitals: A Key to the Future

The optimization of processes and resources in hospitals is crucial for the future of the healthcare landscape. Especially in times of staff shortages, easing the workload for hospital personnel must be a top priority. When this is achieved, it has a positive impact on hygiene behavior and patient safety.

A Shared Goal: System Integration with simplinic

To pursue this goal together, we have implemented a system integration with the IoT platform of the Berlin-based company simplinic — an infrastructure designed to support a variety of use cases.

With NosoEx, the use of hand disinfectant dispensers can be automatically recorded. However, the data generated needs to be retrieved from the dispenser and transmitted to a server — and that requires a technical infrastructure.

Interoperability is the Key

Interoperability is the buzzword of the moment. An infrastructure that supports various technical use cases is highly desirable — and that’s exactly what simplinic enables. Based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), simplinic has created an open ecosystem.

This infrastructure supports simplinic’s own use cases — such as real-time location tracking of medical equipment — while also being open to third-party applications.

How It Works: NosoEx and simplinic in Action

In this integration, NosoEx sensors are attached to disinfectant dispensers, and the data they collect is transmitted via the simplinic infrastructure.
